Londra 1981

A marzo aprile del 1981 io e Aux andammo a Londra per "studiare". Be', in realta' di studio se ne fece molto poco, invece ci specializzammo in "propostas immorales", cosi'come ci venne offerta la presenza ad un party di un gruppo di Spagnoli della nostra scuola, la famosa "Marble Arch School".

Parte della proposta immorales aveva a che fare con ragazze e un po' di attivita' festaiola. E cosi' fu....per tutto il periodo.

Durante la nostra permanenza andammo a diversi concerti, e mi ricordo molto bene quando andammo a vedere gli Stray Cats - che avevano un gruppo nuovo come gruppo di appoggio. Questo gruppo si chiamava "Original Mirrors". Al tempo comprai sul posto l'LP, che nel tempo poi persi. E mai piu' sentii parlare di loro. Cosi' questa sera, durante i miei ascolti serali di canzoni e video su Youtube li ho cercati e li ho trovati. Cosi', Massimo, se mai leggerai questo post, vedi se ti ricordi......

"A rare song not heard or even seen very often. Original Mirrors are mainly remembered for one reason: future Lightning Seeds leader Ian Broudie was in the band. They were formed in the breeding ground for musical talent, Liverpool, England, in 1980. It followed the collapse of vocalist Steve Allen's art rock group Deaf School two years earlier. Big in Japan and Frankie Goes To Hollywood were Ian's previous bands. Broudie played guitar, Peter Kircher was on drums, Jonathan Perkins on keyboards and Phil Spalding on bass. This though was glam rock and power pop and neither of the albums they released was commercially successful. Broudie would go on to produce for Echo & the Bunnymen and the Fall before joining vocalist Paul Simpson in Care in 1983 and then planting the Lightning Seeds in 1989.

Eccola qui, la "melma del mississippi ". Macche' Peroni o Moretti, questa e' la birra dei cacciatori di coccodrilli....

La ho scoperta prima di Natale, e devo dire che cono rimasto incuriosito dalla bottiglia e dalla grafica ottocentesca. Cosi' ho voluto provare. Ottima. Una vera "melma", una birra forte e di carattere.
